The amount of taupo accommodation that has sprung up over the last ten years since I last visited there was quite surprising. Although it has always been a popular holiday destination it seems that the tourist traffic has increased. It’s quite obvious that it is now a prominent destination for overseas visitors as the whole place is pretty much structured around the tourism industry. There are loads of activities to do from sky diving to white water rafting and they certainly have plenty of bars and restaurants to keep both the locals and visitors watered and fed. It seems the nightlife there is pretty good these days as well.
