Before moving, my sister has wanted to make sure that the neighborhood was safe, since she had children, and was a single mother.  A family friend had mentioned that search engines can find a sex offender locator that is useful for finding registered offenders in certain areas.  After extensive search, she had found several promising towns with a minimal amount of offenders. 

This strategy proved to work work for her.  It relieved her of any worries about moving into a new town with so many strangers.  During her search, however, she found many cities and towns with several offenders, which proved yet more the need for using a locator to find offenders.
