Tips on building a wind generator

The first thing you should consider when building a wind generator is how big of a system do you want? I’ve seen websites that have plans for everything from a 300 watt mini-generator to a big one like they sell for $4000 that generates 1000 watts or more. Also consider how much you want to spend for what you’re going to get. All the links I checked claim to have plans for generators that are under $200. I haven’t checked them all out and some of them are just books on how to do it which I didn’t end up buying. Also think about where you live. You need at least 25 mph winds on a regular basis to make it worth the effort, in my opinion. But maybe just trying to create your own electricity is a good thing, no matter how much you make. It could help everyone in the long run.
