If you have a medium sized dog that is 1 to 3 years old, you know they have boundless energy and love to chase things.  Rovers stamina can easily outlast yours, whether you are young with the arm of a pitcher or older with a few aches and pains.

You know the routine – you toss your ball & fetch dog toys and Rover makes a beeline for it.  Hopefully, he brings it back and sits eagerly waiting for you to do it again.  And again.  And again.

You need a Kong.  Pyramidal and made of hard, almost indestructible rubber, the Kong is easily thrown like a football.  But where it goes after it hits the ground is anyone’s guess.  Rover has to run a few steps extra that mount up after awhile.  And if you have a hill handy, chuck the Kong down the hill so he has to expend even more energy.  Note this also serves as an intelligence test – after a couple of fetches, Rover will, if he is smart, begin to wonder “whassup”.

Kongs are available in different sizes appropriate to the breed size and different colors.  Color is important to locating the Kong if Rover decides he is through fetching.
