Monitor the Silent Killer

I don’t know for sure if high blood pressure is hereditary, but my husband’s father had it and my husband has it too. Since there are virtually no symptoms for this disease, he didn’t know about it until a routine doctor’s visit. When we found out, we got a home blood pressure monitor. This way, we can keep an eye on things ourselves. The nice thing about this monitor is that it came with a logbook so that we can record the readings in the morning and in the evening. My husband takes this journal to the doctor’s office with him and together they determine what steps to take to keep his blood pressure under control.
