Writing in the Edwardian Period

The Edwardian period is a fascinating period of history. From my readings about the early Edwardian in particular, so much of what we have come to understand about the 20th Century had its root firmly in those years. One might say the Edwardian period was the formative years of our modern world.

So many products that I have come to see as traditional on the pantry shelves as a child, were first developed during that period, and attitudes to politics, and women in particular shifted from the Victorian into the more modern.  That’s not to say there were not difficult steps then, but it seems the Edwardian Period became such a foundation for modern life.
